Jeff and I decided it was time to take a vacation. Our pregnancy is almost halfway over and it’s great to be in the second trimester…lots of energy and not too big yet. We chose to visit California for a  week to relax and explore. Others have referred to this as a “babymoon.”

Yesterday’s visit to the doctor made my weekend. It was encouraging to hear that the baby and I are both doing extremely well. “156 BPM…Just perfect!” The doctor measured my abdomen for the first time and informed me that my weight gain and uterine growth were right on target for 17 weeks. I left the doctors office feeling great and as I was leaving the parking lot, the male attendant said with a smile, “when are you due?” I answered his question, exited the parking structure and then it dawned on me…that was the first time the outside world noticed I was pregnant. Wow.

I’ve been thinking lately about how much I’ve learned in starting up a business, and how helpful that information would have been had I known it beforehand.
